BIKES … IN WINTER?

Bicycle races held in the mountainous terrain are widely known nowadays. Difficult trails that require proper preparation and equipment are associated mainly with the warm summer time of the year which is the most advantageous in terms of weather conditions for cycling. Organizers of the Fat Bike Race Stołowe Mountains want to show that the bike can be used for professional races also in winter – in the snow, in the cold and in the mountains. All this is possible thanks to the off-road cycling mountain „fat bikes”, equipped with very wide tires, providing excellent traction and cushioning. These bikes are perfect for winter conditions or on sandy terrains.

…OK, BUT WHAT FOR ??

Our motivation to host Monteria FBR GS is striving to meet the set of objectives. And there are few … One of them is to make cycling on fat bikes more popular. Many values of fat bikes are still unknown to Polish cyclists. We want to dispel the myth that cycling in winter is impossible. IT IS POSSIBLE! Another of the objectives we pursue is the promotion of Karłowo in the administrative district of Gmina Radków. Karłowo is a charming town at the foot of the highest peak of the Stołowe Mountains called Szczeliniec. Third objective, the most important and most obvious – is the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, active leisure and recreation in winter. Have we proven that organizing a fat bike race in the Stołowe Mountains in winter makes sense? We are already convinced – and you should join us and register online!
